MW2 will not enjoy the long term success that MW1 did. In fast competitive gameplay one of the key advantages is having low latency between other players. A dedicated server running in a datacentre will have peering with many different ISPs. In plain english this means that a given datacentre typically has very good connections to all of the ISPs out there. Most ISPs do not have good connections between one another.
